Charge Ninja

Commercial DC Charger

Charge Ninja’s commercial EV charger series is a charging station installed in commercial or public locations to provide electric vehicle (EV) charging services. These chargers are strategically placed in areas such as parking lots, shopping centers, workplaces, and along highways to support EV drivers who need to recharge their vehicles while away from home.

Commercial EV chargers typically offer faster charging speeds compared to residential chargers and may include various charging levels, such as Level 2 and Level 3 (DC fast charging), to accommodate different EV models and charging needs. They often require payment or subscription for access and may offer additional features like smartphone connectivity and energy management systems.

How does a DC EV charger work?

It bypasses the vehicle’s onboard charger, directly supplying DC power to the battery, which allows for much faster charging.

Charging speed depends on the charger’s power output and the vehicle’s battery capacity, but DC fast chargers can provide up to 80% charge in as little as 20-30 minutes.

CCS (Combined Charging System) and CHAdeMO are two common DC fast charging standards, with CCS being more prevalent in Europe and North America. Tesla Superchargers are exclusive to Tesla vehicles, although adapters are available for other standards.

DC fast chargers are typically used in commercial settings due to their high power requirements and cost. However, some high-end residential setups can accommodate them.
